Own your data. Own your future.
Most construction software rents you your own record. Fable is built the other way around — real records you control, a vendor relationship you can leave, and a cost that doesn't punish you for growing.
Durability is ours to run. Ownership is yours to keep.
You've been renting your own record, and paying for the privilege.
Ask any contractor who has run a construction, solar, or field operation for a few years and you'll hear the same story. The platform you depend on meters you per seat, so the bill climbs every time you hire. It hides its pricing behind a demo, so you can't compare it to anything without a sales call. It gates your exports, so the history you generated — every job, ticket, and change order — comes back slowly, incompletely, or only on the vendor's terms.
And then there's the ending nobody plans for. You outgrow the tool, or the vendor gets acquired, or the startup quietly folds — and your operational history goes with it. That's not software. That's a landlord who happens to own your filing cabinet. When your record can walk out the door with a vendor's business decision, you don't own your operation. You're renting it back one month at a time.
Three commitments, one stance.
These are the constraints Fable builds within — the reasons contractors stop renting their own data. We assert them as a company philosophy; the provable, product-by-product specifics live on each product's own site.
You own your data
Your operational record should be real, portable, and exportable — records you control, not a copy handed back on request behind a gate. That is the philosophy behind every Fable product. How each one delivers it — dedicated databases, plain-SQL access, structured exports — is spelled out on the product's own site, because we'd rather point you to the specifics than ask you to take our word.
You own your future
Longevity, not lock-in. No per-seat bill that climbs when you hire, no contract that holds your history hostage, no vendor churn that resets your operation. Durability is ours to run; ownership is yours to keep. Because your data is portable, your business keeps running even if the vendor relationship changes — or ends.
You reduce operational risk
Continuity if a vendor changes, portability if you leave, and one credible vendor across the back office and the job site instead of a stack of tools that never quite talk. Predictable, flat cost instead of a meter that punishes growth. Fewer seams for risk to hide in — and fewer surprises when it matters most.
Durability is ours to run, ownership is yours to keep.
That single sentence is the deal. We take on the unglamorous work of keeping the software up, backed up, and durable over the long haul. You keep the thing that actually matters to your business — the record of the work you did — in a form you can take anywhere.
What we run, and what stays yours.
Ownership talk is cheap when nobody draws the line. Here's ours, plainly. We'd rather tell you exactly where our job ends and yours begins than imply we do everything.
What Fable runs for you
The durability layer: uptime, backups, and the day-to-day operation of the software so it's there when your crews are. That is real work, and it is ours to carry — for the hosted products, the infrastructure and its reliability are our responsibility, not yours.
What stays yours
The record itself. Your jobs, tickets, documents, and history are yours to hold, export, and take with you. For the self-hosted products in the family — SendSignatures, a DocuSeal-style e-signature app, and Tracker, a Gitea-style tracker — you run them on your own hardware, so the data never leaves your walls in the first place.
We're deliberate about not overclaiming: the four products don't all share one identical export or self-host mechanism. What they share is the stance — your record is yours — and each product's site tells you exactly how that stance is delivered for that tool.
Stop renting. Start owning.
If you've lived the export-gate story, you already understand the pitch. Reach the right person by intent — no lead-gen gauntlet — and we'll show you the record you'd actually get to keep.
